Example of short hair
So I've been thinking of growing my hair out recently. I am getting tired of it and want a change but when I see some pictures of it long I feel like I should just persevere through the in between stages and let it keep on growing. I know my sisters like it best that way. One time my sister Kristina told me that with my hair short I looked like a Q-tip. I have to admit, without a straightener, (I've had mine for over 7 years...about time for an upgrade I think.)it can be pretty coarse and puffy, especially when it is short.
Well the other day I was watching the movie "Ramona and Beezus"(which I loved!) and I saw a haircut that I just loved on the actress that plays Aunt Bea.( you have watch the movie to see the hair. I couldn't find any still pics from the movie that really showed it.) I thought it was so, so cute and wondered how it would look on me. I started struggling with my intention to grow it out or chop it off. Either way I want something other than what I currently have. I am looking pretty frumpy and wear my hair pulled back most days. I know that Tyson likes it short. I wonder if I had a good straightener and some good product, could I make it work? You few who read my blog, what do you think? Is it best short or long, anything is better than what I have right now!

I have had that haircut - the one from Ramona and Beezus - and loved it. I don't think your hair in the bottom pic is short and I like that cut on you.
We are never happy with what we have! (Obviously, I just went and highlighted my head for that very reason!)
I think you look great now. BUT I know how you feel . . . Anytime I see Faith Hill with short hair I think about hacking my hair off. However, I have found that long hair is quite beautiful. And there is something really lovely and feminine about long, lovely hair. Not everyone can pull off long hair . . . you have great hair -- you can!
Flat Irons are amazing. I would say, long hair, flat ironed, be patient. :-) Without a flat iron my head is a poof-ball, too. I also had long-layers cut into my hair and that helped my bulk and poof. That is another option to consider -- layers.
Also, there is plenty of time to have short hair when you are old. Enjoy long, spunky hair while you are young! BUT if you do cut your hair short, I will still love you. ;-)
i agree that your cut in the bottom picture is great on you! i think i gave mari advice to go short and she gave the same long hair "discourse" then that she did here now. ;) short or long you'll do fine...but my vote is for short!! to me short is youthful, spunky, spicey and FUN!!! :) long is nice too, but i like long best on other people....like mari. :)
Just ask yourself . . . WHO are YOU: Rosalie or Alice??? ;-) wink!
Thanks for the input guys. For those of you who have weighed in, I am leaning toward short hair. Not because of the opinions given, although I appreciate them, but I just keep seeing cute short hair. Although long hair is lovely and feminine, as Mari said,(It looks fantastic on you by the way. You look cute in short or long but I love your hair right now...very feminine.) I think I am yearning for a change that is a little more feminine, whimsical, spunky and fun like Erin said. I believe that can be done, depending on how you style the doo. I keep seeing Aunt Bea in my head. I think it is the whole package really, her hair and her clothes. That character is just so cute to me.
I agree with you Mari that there is plenty of time for short hair when you are old but some of the short hair doos, like the one I'm leaning toward, almost look better on a younger person than an old one. We'll see if I really get up the guts to make the change...I really want to!! Time will tell. :)
I say GO FOR IT!!! Hair grows back so why not. It's a way cute hair cut. I am thinking of shedding my long locks too, sometimes you just need a new look.
You have a husband who likes you in short hair? LUCKY!
You look gorgeous in both photos.
glad you went with short! I think it looks good on you. and a strightener and blow dryer make all the difference! I however, am growing my hair out! just to try having long hair while knowing how to use a straightener. I never used one in the past when I had long hair, and I think it might help me like it more. Also I'm learning how to do curls that I like, so I"ll have that option with long hair. good luck!
I feel the same way now. I love your hair long and short. I tend to like long hair better but mine is thin. I think your hair has a nice thickness (can't think of a better word for it) I think it looks nice long. So I guess I vote for keep growing it out. You can always cut it after that.
