I put this on facebook with a blog post I shared. It ended up being a lot longer than I expected and I decided to post it on here to.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why is it that so many people want something for nothing? What happened to those who valued hard work and being self-reliant? We have become a gimme, gimme nation. I know there are people who are are truly in need but we need to help them to help themselves. We need to give them the tools to help themselves up. We should help them to become independent and self reliant, not dependent and reliant on others. You are all familiar with those political cartoons right? Well , if I was artistic in any way I would draw one of a bunch of these people who expect everything from others, while doing nothing themselves, riding on the back of one of those supposedly greedy, successful people who have worked hard all their lives for the success they have. How long do you think he could carry all the free-loading weight? Maybe I sound harsh but it's getting a little old already. I am one of those people who lives paycheck to paycheck and my husband works hard, really hard to take care of us. Am I looking for a handout? Do I hate people who make more money than us? NO!! We just continue to work as hard as we can to take care of ourselves.
I heard a clip from and occupy protester who was complaining about having a janitorial job. I was thinking,"at least you have a job." Their was a point in our lives where my husband was working two jobs and going to school. He delivered pizza and worked at UPS loading trucks. Did we feel it beneath us....no way. We did what we had to do and we had what we needed. Maybe we didn't have cable or cell phones (by the way, how many of these occupiers do you bet have some kind of smart phone, I-pads, cable TV or high speed Internet? Probably most of them. Maybe they should throw that money to their student loans.) BTW, we are paying off our students loans without complaint. We are just grateful they provided us a way to get our education.
Maybe I should just make this a blog post, it is a lot longer than I expected.
Occupiers, please go home and let people get back to work so we can get our economy going. Companies, that you hate, employ tons of people so they can take care of their families.
Interrupting them is such a way that they have to close their doors does nothing but put more people out of work, at least temporarily.
And if your not going home please try and PEACEFULLY protest. Stop halting business and getting into scuffles with the police. They are doing their jobs to keep people safe and when you get hurt in a confrontation with them, because your being unruly IDIOTS you only have yourselves to blame. They kind of have to fight force with force right? I am sure you'd all welcome their help when someone is trying to break into your home or you've been in an accident, etc.
In conclusion to my rant I want to say that we have no right to complain here in America. Every last one of us has endless opportunities at our fingertips, so many are just not willing to do the work it requires.
Please don't look a gift horse in the mouth and realize how awesome this country really is. Please don't destroy it!

BRAVO!!!
I have never heard you rant, Rachelle! But I so-o-o-o-o-o agree with you.
Were you watching the news? or listening to Glenn Beck? Something must have gotten you all fired-up. You better watch it, or someone might get you a microphone . . . you might just have a career in politics. :-) Well said! And Ditto!
