Life update

So life has been busy for us.  Not only with baby Kellen but everyone else as well.  Here is a quick update.

Tyson-  It is pretty much business as usual for him.  He is still the scoutmaster which keeps him busy.  He really enjoys working with the scouts.  Since serving in this calling he has come to see the importance of the scouting program.  He likes that it gets these boys off their duffs playing video games and out learning, serving and building character.  I know that he loves his monthly camp outs. (although I do not.) It's a great chance for him to get out into nature and start fires and fish and whatever else men and boys like to do. He is enjoying his new job at Idaho Power.  What a blessing it's been for us. We are grateful for the time at Micron but so glad to be out of there!  He is also taking Taedwondo with Matt and Kaleb through the community.  He recently advanced to a yellow belt.  He has also been helping out with Kaleb's t-ball team.  He has a lot going on but somehow he seems to balance it all.

Rachelle- I have been busy balancing life with a new baby, homework, kids activities, keeping up with household responsibilities and my calling in the primary presidency.  It feels like a lot for me but I know others do a lot more.  I try to keep it as simple as I can, since I am easily stressed out! Anyone who knows me knows that.  I have this emerging passion for DIY projects and ideas.  I haven't actually done much yet but have lots of ideas.  My new found love for pinterest only gets me more excited about all this stuff.  I am always looking for ways to change or add to my home on a budget.  I get so excited about before and afters.  I could look at picture after picture of them.  I am much more interested in buying something old for a good deal and revamping it as opposed to buying something new.  I am definitely loving the DIY movement!  I also love organization tips and ideas, especially since my family of 6 is crammed into a small home where things need to be organized to help it run smoothly.  I am still working on that.

Matthew-  I am so proud of Matt.  Although he is very bright school is not an easy thing for him but he works hard.  There are so many people at his school that help him and we try to do what we can for him here at home.  He is making great progress and we love to see it.  He's been taking Isat's the past 3 weeks and we just got his scores.  He did such a great job!  I know that school is challenging and can be exhausting for him but he keeps on going and we couldn't be more pleased with his effort.  He is also enjoying taekwondo with his dad and Kaleb.  He has also advanced up to his yellow belt.  He is involved in cubscouts.  He completed his wolf and is now a bear.  Scouting is right up his alley.  Starting next week he will be taking guitar lessons.  He has been asking about this for a long time.  We finally asked a friend if he would be willing to teach him.  He is an amazing guitar player.  He is self taught and has never given a lesson but was more than willing to teach Matt.  Tyson plays a bit of guitar as well.  He will be tagging along with Matt so he can learn more.  I think it will be a lot of fun for all of them.  Matt also loves to build and create.  He actually created a little raft out of some leftover wood we had and we were very impressed.  He has his own tools, including a drill and staple gun.  He also loves to be outside riding his bike or scooter, hiking, fishing, camping, and target shooting. (that is a recent love after shooting with his uncles and his dad.)  He hopes to go hunting with his Grandpa Moore when he gets back from his mission.(To clarify- when his Grandpa gets back not Matt.  He's not going to wait that long.)

Kaleb-  Right now he is involved in taekwondo and t-ball.  He loves both of them.  He is great at hitting that ball far off the tee. He's watched his older brother doing things in the past and is happy it is finally time for him to get involved in things outside of school.  He is enjoying school and doing well.  He is a great reader which I love to see.  It is amazing to watch and listen as they learn how to read.  It seems to come naturally to him.  He is a social bug and loves to play with friends.  While Matt is the one more interested in being outside Kaleb is my video game fanatic.  I have to keep an eye on that and keep it limited.  He does enjoy being outside as well.  He loves to jump on the tramp, ride his bike and scooter and fish with his dad.  He loves to play with beyblades and pokemon too.  He is a happy boy and a big helper with his little brothers.

Ian-  We always get a laugh out of Ian.  He does and says such funny things.  It is a great age for that.  He is a helper with his little brother Kellen.  It can be a little too much at times.  I have to keep an eye on him.  He loves to do whatever his brothers are doing.  I know he gets a little bored at home when they are in school.  He loves to watch movies, have books read to him and he loves to sing.  Sometimes I will find him singing to himself when no one is around.  He is a sunbeam in primary and love that.  He has a great teacher who is perfect for those kids.  His favorite part of primary is singing time....no surprise there.  He has the cutest eyes and smile that aid him in getting away with things.  He loves to wrestle with his dad, as do all my boys.  I think Tyson is one of his favorite people. :)  Oh, and something funny he says to me lately, at random times, is "I know how you feel."   It cracks me right up.  I tell him to always remember to say that to his wife someday.  Validation is a great thing.  Another funny thing, when he is mad at his brothers he says, "You stupid ol' rabbit."  It's so funny to everyone that I don't think it quite has the affect he's aiming for!

Kellen-  Our little guy is 3 months now.  He is such a happy, mellow baby.  In the beginning he was a little colicky but we found out he has a milk protein allergy, same as 2 of my other boys.  We had to put him on a hypoallergenic formula and that has made a big difference for him.  He is a much happier camper.  We all love his smiles and coos that he gives so easily now.  He is just starting to enjoy his little gym I put him under with hanging toys.  He smiles and grabs at his them.  I love it when they start doing little things like that.  He still has all his hair and the cutest blue eyes.  He is a blessing to our family and we are so grateful for this little spirit in our home.

Mom-DIY is short for do it yourself. You've been gone way to long! ;)
