Kaleb's Baptism

Kaleb was baptized on August 31st.  We are so proud of his choice.  It was a wonderful day.  We had lots of family in town and we are so grateful for that.  Lots of love and support is wonderful.  I was asked to give the talk on the Holy Ghost.  Sheesh, I started feeling weepy as soon as the prelude music began!  Then they had a musical number between the talk on baptism and my talk.  It was, "If the Savior Stood Beside Me", one of my favorites.  It was performed on the cello and piano and it was beautiful.  It doesn't seem fair to have a mother of one of the kids being baptized give a talk right? ;)  I was pretty emotional but held myself together well enough I guess.  The baptism was beautiful and the spirit was so strong.  Kaleb's middle name is Clifford.  That is my grandpa's name and he died about 8 years ago in an accident, before Kaleb was born.  When Tyson said Clifford, while saying Kaleb's full name during the baptism ordinance, the spirit touched me more than at any other time that day.  I knew my grandpa was there witnessing it all.  While I was pregnant with Kaleb we would talk about how Kaleb was with my grandpa before he came to our family, how they were in heaven together.  I like to imagine they have a special bond.  What a blessing!

Kaleb got this towel from the ward primary.

More than half of the family pictured came from out of town.  We were so glad they could come.  :)

I just love this picture of grandma with her some of her granddaughters.  The grandkids love her!
Tyson's parents gave Kaleb his scriptures.  They always give there grandchildren that gift for their baptism.  It is awesome.  My mom gave Kaleb a blanket she made but I didn't get a picture of  that.  She always makes a warm fleece comforter for her grandchildren's baptisms and when she gives it to them she talks about the Holy Ghost being like the comforter.  She wants it to remind them of the way the Holy Ghost can make them feel.  Another great gift.

I like those gift ideas. I may do that when I'm a grandmother, make a 'comforter' blanket or quilt.
You sister Kristina? is making funny faces in her pictures. It's like she's doing a pukana (maori word)
Great day and I'm glad everyone came.
