Tyson told me about a conversation he had with a coworker yesterday. Tyson had mentioned something about our van and the coworker was surprised we had a van, an old van at that. Knowing that we are mormon he automatically thought we had a Tahoe.
This guys wife runs a gym on their property...she is a personal trainer. He said that the some of the first clients she got where Tahoe driving, fake boob sporting Mormons.
I am not judging these ladies. They can drive Tahoes and have fake boobs if they want. Hey, a boob job has even crossed my mine....don't judge! You come to me when you can't even fill an A cup and say it wouldn't cross your mind either. ;)
He mentioned the billboards you pass on your way to Salt Lake that are advertising breast augmentation. He also has a hunting buddy, who is LDS, whose wife had breast implants.
I am not posting this to say we shouldn't drive Tahoes or get breast implants. People can govern themselves and there is no commandment against those things. It's just funny that when he thinks of Mormons he thinks of Tahoes and boob jobs. Is there something wrong with that picture?

LOL
This is interesting.
I'm not going to say more than that.
Wow, I wouldn't put that label on Mormon women myself. I picture the general soccer mom crowd being that way:) It could be more of a geographical situation.
I also do think that if you are living your life as a true disciple of Jesus Christ and trying your best to fully understand his will for you in your life and living to accept his example, the leaders of the church don't have to say, "Don't get a boob job" you will understand that it's implied.
Marsha, I do believe it's more of a geographical thing than anything else. Were I grew up, where you live (I'm guessing), even the small area of Boise we live now, I don't think there would be that stereotype. I'm thinking this guys lives in the Meridian area...no offense. It is sort of a mini Utah...again no offense to Utah people, it's just true. There is probably more of that there among Mormons than in most places for some reason.
I was raised in California and I have lived in Utah for the last 20 years. I can understand people's view of the"Utah" but the"Utah" Mormon lives in every state. I have met many many Utah Mormons who are also as far away from the typical stereotype as you could imagine. The most interesting thing to me about it all is that we lds women, no matter were we live or what our situation still find a way to politely find a dividing line. We find a way to categorize each other. The truth of the matter is we are all doing our best to be the best we can be given our own personal situations. Rather then have a conversation of peoples view of what Utah Mormons do differently we should try to focus on what they are doing the same, trying to raise happy and righteous children, help in their communities, serve in their church callings, be obedient to the commandments and so many more. When this happens I think we will be closer and closer to what our father in heaven desires for us to be...a Zion people.
Just one more thought. These women with the boobs and Tahoes live in Idaho right. They come to Utah to get work done because we have the " billboards" but live in Idaho. Why not call them Idaho Mormons. There are billboards in Vegas advertising all sorts of things. I am sure some of our members participate in those things but we don't call them Nevada Mormons. I think we need to call Mormons just that, Mormons. Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. No precursor. The precursor is just something that causes division. It may appear that because I live in Utah I have a strong opinion of this. I am sure this contributes to my opinion because I know first hand of the good, humble, and kind members that live here but more then that I just think there is enough criticism about our religion and the women in it by those who look from the outside in that we should not contribute to it.
