Life Lessons

I have nothing profound to say about this really.  I just wanted to point out and remember that this year, 2013, seems to have been a year of lessons for me.  I've had a lot to learn.  Hopefully I will take these life lessons and be better for them.  Here are some of them.

1. Look for the good in people and love them where they are.

2. There are so many good and diverse members of the church.  We all have something to offer and learn from each other.

3.  Don't be quick to judge.  You don't know what is going on with people and how that may affect their actions.

4.  Everyone wants to be loved and accepted.

5.  I don't need to be a drill sergeant with my kids.  I don't have to control everything and I need to pick my battles.

6.  Listen, especially to my children.

7.  Forgive others.  The Lord forgives us always and in our efforts to be more like Christ we should do this too.  Easier said then done but anything is possible with the Lord.

8.  Be optimistic and enjoy life.

These are just some of the things.  They are not things I've mastered by any means.  They are just things that I've had glaring me in the face that I know are true and need to be worked on.

It has been a lesson-filled year, for sure! :-) What is life good for, but to learn from it?
