Sunday Thoughts

"respect yourself. do not feel sorry for yourself. do not dwell on unkind things others may say about you. polish and refine whatever talents the lord has given you. go forward in life with a twinkle in your eye and a smile on your face, but with great and strong purpose in your heart." [gordon b. hinckley]

"If we will concentrate on the best, that element will grow until it sparkles."

-President Gordon B. Hinckley

“Don't be critical of people.  Find their virtues—they have some—and build on those.  You will be very happy if you do.”

-President Gordon B. Hinckley

My patriarchal blessings says something to the affect of looking for the good in people and I will find it.
There is so much good in the world and so many good people.  We are imperfect but most of us are trying to do our best.  That trying, that effort counts to the Lord and it should count to us too.

I really, really love President Hinckley.  It makes me happy and hopeful just to look at him. :)

He had a way of being super straightforward, loving, and correcting -- all at the same time. It was the twinkle in his eye, I think -- he just made you love him! He is my "Favorite". The prophet of my youth.
