Throwback Thursday

I've decided that Thursdays I'll post a memory from the past.  They may be lengthy or really, really short.  I don't remember a ton and hope this will help jog my memory as I think about it.  Plus it will be fun to have them here since I didn't journal much growing up.  My kids will be able to benefit from my thrilling adventures as a child! ;)

Memory #1

My memories aren't necessarily going to be in chronological order but I thought today I'd start with my earliest.  My guess is that I was around 4 or 5ish. It is a short memory, more of a snapshot.  My house growing up was a split level.  You walked into a small entryway and could either take stairs up to the kitchen/bedrooms/living room or downstairs to the basement with a few bedrooms, laundry room and a large family room.

I remember sitting in the upstairs living room on the floor. I think we were leaving our home in Madera and moving to Davis.  We lived in Davis for a few years before moving back to Madera to our same home.  I think we rented it out while we were gone.

In my memory I remember the living room being empty(I think because we had packed up our stuff to move.) and it was dark because the curtains were drawn.  It was light outside still.  I remember that because I could see the light peeking through around the edges of the curtains.

The curtain fabric was like the one in this picture below, but less orangey and more brown.  It had dark brown where this one looks rusty colored.

It's perfectly dated fabric that reminds me of my house growing up. :)
