Life has been busy...almost too busy. Matt had a triathlon last weekend and his school track meets have started. Kaleb has started soccer and his first game was last Saturday too.
Why is it that our lives revolve around sporting events? We don't even do as much as many others. How do people juggle it all?
Last week was long and emotionally draining amidst all these things. A good friend of ours passed away suddenly. I'll probably blog more about that another time. The last thing I wanted to do was run around all over the place. Tyson's family was in town staying with his parents too so that was more to keep us busy. In some ways it was good to be busy and in other ways I wanted to just curl up in bed with a book and fly off to somewhere in the authors imagination. That week some things just fell through the cracks and I was okay with that. My boys spelling test scores were evidence of that. We didn't study much and I don't feel guilty about it.
Conference Sunday was wonderful though. It was nice to stay home and listen to inspiring words of our church leaders.
Life is getting back to normal, in some ways I feel bad about that. Things have changed completely for this family we love so much. Even though our life keeps rolling forward we will always remember our friend and feel grateful that we knew him. We will always be connected to him and his family. They have left quite an impression on our lives.
The gospel is such a blessing and I feel it more deeply in times like these.
