“Home is where the rags of your life are turned into quilts, lemons become lemonade, and a few extra pounds are simply welcomed as ‘more of you to love’.”
Sherry Bubnowski, Four States, West Virginia
The author of the blog that was talking about this article posed the question to her readers, What does 'Home' mean to you? I decided to answer that question.
Home is where I feel I can truly be myself and I am surrounded by people who love me for me, imperfections and all. It is a place with lots of boy noises, messes, and smells. It is sweet smiles and kisses from my kids. It is a loving husband who sacrifices so much for us and others that his hair is already turning gray. It is sitting on the couch in my high water pajamas with a husband who stills finds me attractive despite the fact that my hair is thrown back in a ponytail because I didn’t shower and no makeup is on my face. What could feel more like home than this.
Now I pose that same question. What does 'Home' mean to you? I really want to know. So either put it in my comment box or on your own blog.

You said you really wanted to know...so you asked for it :)
I like this post and it made me stop and think. we have been married 7 years and have moved 7 times. We have had "homes" in several different places, some worse than others. The fact that we were able to look past moldy & roach infested rooms, cops knocking on our doors, and one bedroom apartments with kids, just proves that "home" has nothing to do with physical location, but the love and respect a family shares in times of trial along with times where everything is going right. "home" is a place where there is a sense of humor to get you through tough times and a shoulder to cry on when things get rough. I have to agree with you both when I say that home is where a "few extra pounds" and not gray, but a receding hair line still find each other as cute as the day they were married. Home is a place where our family comes together and genuinely enjoys each others company. wherever we are as a family, we are home.
Anyway...I hope I answered your question well enough. And on a totally separate note, I was thinking about how so many people that once lived in Madera now live up in ID or UT. (me, you, marcee, lani, carl, payte, rebecca, etc.) We should have like a Madera reunion or something. What do you think? email me if you want. samtsnyder@gmail.com I'd like to come visit you. It's been forever!
