Unearthed Treasures

This past weekend we drove to my parents in Utah to get a piano and a few other things they brought back from my grandma's house.  They had been their for a week trying to pack up her house and get it ready to sell.  This isn't there first trip and won't be their last.  Grandma kept lots and lots of stuff.  As tedious as it is for my parents to go through, I am so glad she kept pretty much everything.  There are many treasures amongst it all.
While at my parents I looked through some boxes of pictures and it was amazing.  It is like a family history buffs paradise.  There were so many candid pictures of my grandparents and my dad and his brother when they were little.(They must have had a camera of their own.)  There were a ton of old pictures of our ancestors, back in the time when they didn't smile.  I also found WWII rations cards in my grandma's name and one in her dad's name.  Their was an old bead purse my grandma's dad had bought from New York in the late 1800's.  I am so grateful that my grandma saved all this stuff.  I can't wait to go back to my parents and look through more.
Here is a picture of the piano I got from my grandma.  I love it!!

I love having my grandparents piano in my front room.  It is so special to me.  My grandpa's picture had been sitting on my old piano, which I talked about in another post, but I had moved it to a different place a while back.  After getting my grandma's piano in my front room I new I needed to put the picture on the piano to see every time I sit to play.  I love my grandparents and am so grateful that I was able to grow up close to them.  Family was most important to them and, as their grandchildren, they loved us unconditionally.  My heart is full. :)
