Anchor for my Soul

Conference this weekend was awesome.  With 4 boys running around it can be a little crazy and hard to hear everything but what I do hear is always food for my soul.  It is such a blessing that we can read, watch and listen later to get what we may have missed or hear what we loved over again. :)

Conference is always a reminder to me that the Lord is the same always.  Such a blessing and comfort to me.  He has set certain laws and they don't change with the times.  The gospel is an anchor to my soul.  So many religions, even though they aren't without some good, change with the times.  They have a hard time standing up against the tidal wave of change that seems to be washing across the world.  They give a little here and a little there.  It seems that it would be confusing to know what the Lord really wants.

I have a hard time with change and there is a lot of change in life.  Over time I've learned to adapt a little better than in the past but it's still a challenge.  I need consistency and am so grateful when I get it.  The gospel and the Savior are the most important constant in my life.

The leaders of the church are unfailingly constant and steadfast.  They are such an inspiration to me.  They are disciples of Christ who stand firm in the faith.  They lead with love, compassion and hope.  The things going on in the world around us can try and zap the feelings of hope we cling to.  But, when you hear those men and women of God speak, you can't help but feel hopeful and inspired.

Heavenly Father loves us beyond our ability to fathom and He has given us leaders to help us return to Him.  What a gift!
