Enjoy Today Mama!

I found a quote on pinterest yesterday.  I love it :)  It's a good reminder for me so I put it on my bathroom mirror with a picture of me and my boys.
The quote says...

You will never have
this day with your
children again.

Today is a gift.

Breathe and notice.

Study their little
faces and feet.

Relish the charms of
the present.

Enjoy today mama,
it will be gone
before you know it.

Being a mother is a challenge to say the least.  I would like to say I'm a soft, gentle, loving mother but much of the time I don't feel that way.  I get stressed, impatient and can lose my cool over the most trivial things.

I often wish the days away.  I putter around at home with my children but do I really see them?  The sad truth is I see the laundry and dishes before I see them.  These things call out my name and I'm afraid I often heed their beckoning's before my kids. These things are my constant companions as if they won't wait for me.  But the truth is they will wait, they can wait!  The laundry and dishes will always be there but my children will not.

I need reminders to be kind and loving.  Hopefully looking at this picture every morning I can take a deep breath and say, "I can do this!"  I can be loving and kind, whatever it takes.  I need a lot of help and luckily our Heavenly Father can bless me with the assistance I need.  He wants me to succeed and provided a way for me to do that.  I will fall short.  It happens, this darn mortal life...we all fall short.

However, the Lord knowing this would be the case, provided a Savior so we can keep trying again.  Because of that it is never hopeless.  There is always hope.

Breath and try again...one day at a time.
