Trip Pics- Part 2

After Disneyland we headed to Laguna Beach.  It was an AMAZING day.  The weather was perfect.  It was warm and sunny.  We weren't on the main Laguna Beach so there weren't a lot of people.  We found a beach tucked away in a cove in residential area. Why don't we live by the beach?!

This first picture was taken while we were driving into town.  The smell and sight of the ocean is one of the best feelings!

You can't beat playing in the sand.

Kellen chasing the seagulls.

That's a bigger view of the beach we went to.  We parked next to a park that overlooked the beach.

The day after Laguna Beach we drove to the central California coast to a town called Half Moon Bay.  We stayed the night there and spent a few hours in the morning hanging out at the beach before heading to San Francisco for a few hours. It wasn't sunny and warm but still so beautiful.  Plus, there is nothing like the sound of the ocean.
Ahhh, a kiss by the ocean.  How romantic! ;)

The boys exploring and driving their cars around.

Tyson waiting for the perfect conditions to show the boys some hermit crabs.

Digging for crabs just as the wave receded.

Matt found one.

Making car tracks.  The sun is slowly burning through the morning haze.

Kaleb worked on digging this big hole he could sit in.

Kaleb and Ian waiting for a wave to come.  I told them to stand still as it comes and try to stay standing as the wave recedes and pulls some of the sand out from under your feet.  I used to love to do this as a girl.  It plays tricks on your brain as you stare down at your feet while the water comes up and them moves back out.  It always felt like I was going to fall over.  It did the same thing for the boys.  As the wave came up Kellen tried to run away but he was getting bogged down in the wave.  It was pretty funny.

A few treasures we found.  Tyson found this lava rock that had a bunch of shells in it.  No doubt some sea creatures made it their home at some point.

On to San Francisco.  Our first time ever on the Golden Gate Bridge.  The boys loved it.

Tyson, Kellen and I were the only ones who got out of the car at the lookout.  The other boys were feeling to crummy and it was a little cold.  I wished the day would have been a little clearer.  After seeing the Golden Gate we went to Ghirardelli Square and got a delicious ice cream sundae.

There was a really cool boat at the pier.  I wished I would have had my better camera with me.

We did not plan well when we left San Francisco.  It was right at the start of rush hour.  It took us two hours longer to get from San Fran to Reno then it normally would have.  It was basically bumper to bumper from 5 to 9.  All they way from San Fran to Sacramento.  Man it was a bear and my boys were feeling so bad they could barely take being in the car any longer.  That was the worst part of the trip.

We would love to take this trip again but hopefully everyone will be feeling really good and healthy!

So many great memories of the beach. I miss it terribly. Lucky I have the foothills to tide me over.
Hahaha tide, get it? I'm smarter than what I think.
I've done that feet thing so many times. I love it.
