Preschool

Ian loved preschool this year.  It was his first and last year in preschool.  Next year he will be in kindergarten.  What a crazy idea right?  Time just flies by.  Preschool was so good for him.  He is shy and a homebody so the 2 days a week for a few hours were perfect.  It still had him home most of  the time but he was able to ease into the idea of being away from home for a little while.
I think this will make the transition to kindergarten a lot easier for him.  His preschool teacher, Mrs. Patricia, was awesome.  She is so sweet and kind and sincerely loves the kids.  She makes them each feel special and loved.  I'm grateful to her for that.

He went on several fieldtrips this year.  They went to the fire station, Fred Meyer bakery, Zamzows and the Nature Center.
I didn't go on any of these until the last one, the Nature Center.  Ian really wanted me to go and was so excited for it.  Kellen and I tagged along and it was a lot of fun for all the kids.  Kellen loved being part of the group for a little while.

We also had a preschool graduation.  It was so cute.  The kids sang us several of the songs they learned that year and then they put on these cute hats and each had their turn getting their preschool diploma.  After Mrs. Patricia gave them their diploma she had them each say what they wanted to be when they grew up.  Ian wants to be a firefighter, for now.  Some of the kids had hilarious, future dreams.  They was a ballerina princess, a blue power ranger and a hot dog to name a few.  These kids dream big!
It was short and sweet and the teacher ended with some kind words.  I actually shed a few tears, which surprised me.  I know it's only preschool graduation but they are only this young once.  For some reason it really struck me.  I will miss Ian at this age.
