Ordained

This is a Matt post that's been sitting in my drafts for too long.
In January we reached a big moment for Matt and our family.  Matt turned 12 and hit a major milestone in his life.  He was ordained to the office of a deacon in January and now holds the Aaronic priesthood.  He was so excited about it.  After his interview with the bishop, to see if he was ready for his ordination, he was so thrilled.  He was especially thrilled to receive a temple recommend to do youth baptisms.  He didn't realize that this would happen too and was surprised and super happy about it.  He was able to do baptisms not long after that.
As a mom it was so special to watch Matt pass the sacrament for the first time.  He took it very seriously and did an awesome job.  I wished he could have passed to our row but he was put on and easier route.  I could watch him though and that was enough for me.
The actual ordination was special too.  It seemed that the message Heavenly Father wanted to get across to Matt was that he was loved.  He is loved by his Heavenly Father and he is loved by us!  Matt is special boy.  He is a lot like me in some ways so we can often butt heads which can be a challenge sometimes. :)  He is a good boy though.  He is funny and gets super excited about things he loves.  He doesn't necessarily love school but he loves to learn and soaks things up like a sponge.  He is a smart kid with a witty sense of humor.  Some of his favorite shows to watch are documentaries.  He seems to have a great interest in the history of things.  We love Matt and are happy he was sent to our family!

Matt is a pretty amazing boy. I cannot believe that he is now a priesthood holder. It is really cool to watch him pass the sacrament. He just has such a strong testimony. Sheesh... they grow up too fast!
I love the new posts! Keep em' coming :)
